‘Primadonna’ sets the stage – bold, catchy, and built to break hearts.
UK pop-country quartet First Time Flyers are soaring into late summer with the release of their infectious new single, ‘Primadonna’, out now via Lookout Mountain. Already a fan favourite at their live shows, the track lands just in time for their triple appearance at this weekend’s Long Road Festival and sets the stage for their highly anticipated debut album, Bound To Break, arriving September 12th.
A Song with Sass and Spark
Written about a real-life character from the music industry – though the band cheekily won’t name names unless the album hits the top 10- ‘Primadonna’ is a playful, punchy anthem that captures the quirks and egos we all encounter. “Everyone has a bit of Primadonna in them,” says Poppy Fardell, with a wink. Vicki Manser adds, “We’ve been asked many times to say who the song is about… maybe we will if our album goes top 10!”
The band’s chemistry shines through in their affection for the track. “I think we enjoy playing the song as much as the fans enjoy hearing it,” says Tim Prottey-Jones. And new dad Jake Morrell jokes, “I know you shouldn’t have a favourite child… but we do quite like this one!”
Festival Fever and Album Countdown
With Long Road Festival in full swing, First Time Flyers are riding high on momentum. Their previous single Stay earned a coveted first play from Vernon Kay on BBC Radio 2 and marked their third consecutive track to be playlisted by the station—an impressive feat that coincided with their appearance at Country 2 Country Festival earlier this year.
Now, with Bound To Break just weeks away, the band – Vicki, Jake, Poppy, and Tim – are gearing up for their biggest headline tour to date. Kicking off September 17th in Manchester, the 12-date run will bring their signature blend of pop polish and country soul to fans across the UK.
