In a deeply disappointing turn for UK country and Americana fans, Black Deer in the City – scheduled for 25th and 26th October 2025 – has officially been cancelled.

The announcement comes as a blow to the community that has long championed Black Deer’s commitment to authenticity, artistry, and connection. This new urban edition promised a spectacular setting filled with 60 artists, immersive dance hall experiences, artisan showcases, and culinary brilliance. It was shaping up to be a landmark moment for the festival’s evolution.

But the realities of today’s economic climate have made that vision untenable. In a statement released by the organisers, they shared:

“It is with great sadness and regret, that Black Deer has to announce the cancellation of Black Deer In The City on the 25th and 26th October 2025. We wanted to ensure everyone attending had a truly authentic, enjoyable and wonderful Black Deer experience… In an increasingly difficult market for independent event organisers and related event expenses, significant cost of living considerations for all and ticket sales that have simply not reflected our expectations… all of which have adversely affected the delivery of the event and impacts significantly upon the experience we would wish to present.”

The team also confirmed that ticket holders will be contacted by the event’s ticket agent in the coming days, with full refunds arranged in accordance with the terms and conditions.

This cancellation isn’t just a logistical decision—it’s a deeply felt loss for the artists, suppliers, chefs, and creatives who had already poured their hearts into the event. To them, and to every fan who booked a ticket, marked their calendar, and dreamed of dancing under city lights: thank you. Your support and belief in the Black Deer vision mean everything.
