Charles Wesley Godwin is an American country-folk musician born in Morgantown, West Virginia. He began his musical journey while studying finance at West Virginia University, where he learned to play the guitar and started songwriting. Inspired by artists like Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, and John Prine, Godwin's music blends traditional country sounds with heartfelt storytelling. His debut album, "Seneca," released in 2019, was an autobiographical exploration of his Appalachian roots and received critical acclaim for its authenticity and emotional depth.Godwin's second album, "How the Mighty Fall," released in 2021, marked a shift in his songwriting approach, focusing more on telling other people's stories rather than his own. This album further solidified his reputation as a talented storyteller and musician. In 2023, he released his third full-length studio project, "Family Ties," under the Big Loud label. This album is deeply personal, with songs dedicated to his family members, such as "Miner Imperfections" for his father and "All Again" for his wife.
