Sandy Kelly, Ireland’s “First Lady of Country Music,” released her latest album Leaving It All Behind in October 2023, marking her first solo studio project in three decades.Sandy Kelly’s musical journey began at the age of three, performing with her family’s travelling variety show, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in entertainment. She first found success in pop music, scoring a hit with Come Back Billy Joe, before representing Ireland at the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest as part of The Duskeys. Her instincts eventually drew her toward country music, where she carved out a reputation as one of Ireland’s most beloved performers. Over the years, she has collaborated with legendary artists including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Glen Campbell, Tammy Wynette, and Chet Atkins, cementing her place in the international country music community.Her career highlights include the iconic duet Woodcarver with Johnny Cash, which became a gold record, and her acclaimed rendition of Willie Nelson’s Crazy. In 2023, she returned to the studio at Cash Cabin in Nashville, producing Leaving It All Behind with Grammy-winning producer John Carter Cash.
